Artist: Herman LeRoy Emmet (American, b. 1943)
American photographer. Based in Lake Nona, FL. Graduated from Georgetown University in 1966 and served in Army Intelligence during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, Emmet received his MA in 1976 from the Maryland Institute, College of Art. Primarily working with black and white photography as documentation, Emmet has recently explored painting. He attributes his new interest in color, and the development of Parkinson’s disease to the chemical changes caused by his exposure to Agent Orange. Emmet has been recognized internationally for his work titled, Fruit Tramps: A Family of Migrant Workers.
