Artist: Harold Feinstein (American, 1931-2015)
American photographer. Started photographing at 15. By the age of 19, his work was purchased as part of the MOMA permanent collection. Feinstein quickly became a prominent figure in New York City street photography. Feinstein's first exhibitions were at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1954 and at the Museum of Modern Art in 1957. He held his solo exhibitions at the George Eastman Museum in 1957 and Helen Gee's Limelight Gallery the following year. Most well-known for his black and white street photography and his photographs of the scenes at Coney Island, which he spent six-decades photographing.
