Artist: Hans Moller (German-American, 1905-2005)
German-American painter. Moller was born in Germany, but fled to America in 1936 to protect his Jewish wife from the Nazis. He rose to prominence in the 1940s in New York as an abstractionist. He is best known for his exuberant use of color and interpretations of Monhegan Island, Maine.
