Artist: Georgia Blizzard (American, 1919-2002)
American ceramics artist. Blizzard used locally-sourced materials to create her ceramic works. She used clay in the Appalachian Hills, and fired and colored her pieces with bark, leaves, or mud. Her work depicted local and familial characters, while also having a pre-Columbian quality. Her work is described as "part American-Indian, part Celtic, and part William Blake.
