Artist: George Nama (American, b. 1939)
American artist known for his sculptures and works on paper. Explores perceptions of reality in his work. For him, the observation of an object equates to perceiving it as a series of changing images; it is these ideas of metamorphisis that are at the core of his work. Also known for his collaborations with poets and writers on artist's books, which have been exhibited in Europe and the United States. Work has been exhibited at numerous institutions, including The Morgan Library, the Boston Athenæum, The Metropolitan Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Carnegie Institute.
