Artist: Gabor Peterdi (American, 1915-2001)
Hungarian-American painter and printmaker, Peterdi studied painting in Italy and in Paris. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1939 and joined the U.S. army and served in Europe during World War II. Peterdi later established and ran the Graphic Workshop at the Brooklyn Museum Art school and he also taught at Hunter College and Yale School of Art. His works have been exhibited at the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, the National Gallery of Art and many others.
