Artist: Ewan Gibbs (British, b. 1973)
British graphite artist. Gibbs is known for his meticulous drawings which often depict landmarks and notions of travelling. His style is influenced by knitting patterns. Using the knitting shorthand of symbols to represent color, Gibbs began drawing using travel brochures, sports journals and found photographs as source material. The resulting images were recognizable at a distance, while they became abstract and fleeting up close.
