American painter. Born 1857, Albert began his career as a newspaper artist and stage designer before moving into more traditional landscape painting. Albert studied at the Brooklyn Institute of Art and was awarded the Graham Art Medal at the age of 15 for his promise in painting. Albert worked in New York, St. Louis, and Chicago.
