Artist: Edouard Boubat (French, 1923-1999)
French photojournalist born in Montmartre, Paris in 1923. Boubat studied typography and graphic arts at the Ecole Estienne. His interest in photography began after World War II. His work is held in public collections including the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, Paris, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and The Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Boubat was awarded the National Photographic Prize of France in 1988 and The Hasselblad Foundation Prize, also in 1988.
