Artist: Dieter Roth (German-Swiss, 1930-1998)
A German-Swiss Conceptual artist. Born in Hannover, Germany and worked with the Fluxus art group. Became a major figure in the international art world in 1992 and represented Switzerland at the Venice Biennale. Also held a large-scale retrospective at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. Collaborated with his son, Bjorn Roth, on many projects including Solo Szenen (Solo Scenes). Best known for large-scale sculptures of biodegradable food such as cheese, chocolate and sugar.
