Artist: Barbara Swan (American, 1922-2003)
Received her B.A. in art history from Wellesley College and also studied painting at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Worked in France for two years with funding from a Museum of Fine arts Fellowship. Later married Alan Fink in 1952. Became well known in Boston during the 1950s. Collaborated with the poets Anne Sexton and Maxine Kumin. Illustrated several of Sexton’s books and Kumin’s Pulitzer-winning book Up Country.
