Artist: Barbara Klemm (German, b. 1939)
Barbara Klemm was born in 1939, in Münster/Westfalen, Germany. She is a German artist and press photographer who uses black-and-white analog photography. Since 1959, she has worked for the Frankfurter Allemeine Zeitung, a German newspaper, as a photographer especially for political and arts/literature sections. In 1989, she was awarded with Dr.-Erich-Salomon-Preis of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie, with Hessischer Kulturpreis in 2000, and more. She has photographed a lot of significant historical events, such as the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, first democratic elections in Portugal in 1975, and more. She is currently an honorary professor at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.
