American photographer born in 1960, in Brooklyn, NY. Modica received a BFA in visual arts and art history from the State Univeristy of New York- Purchase, as well as a MFA in photography at Yale University. Modica is noted for her portraiture and platinum prints and has been published in many magazines, such as the New York Times and the New Yorker. The artist is a professor of photography at Drexel University and has published seven books of her images thus far.
