A wall sculpture that resembles a flattened and crushed cardboard box. The front of the ‘box’ is decorated with an illustration of two white beer cans labeled “Pabst Blue Ribbon.” Pictures of similar cans appear on the top, bottom, and sides of the box.
Executing tromp l’oeil work in a variety of media, Kentucky-based artist Tom Pfannerstill draws attention to the individualizing impact of time on commonplace objects. He has exhibited at galleries in New York City, Las Vegas, Italy, and across the American South. Pfannerstill’s work is in the collections of the Flint Institute of Arts, MI, and the Evansville Museum of Arts and Sciences, IN.
