Six brightly-colored rectangles hang on a wall in a vertical stack like the rungs of a ladder. From top to bottom the rectangles are colored red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.
Portland-based artist Jacqueline Ehlis explores the possibilities of paint as a form- defining medium, using it to create a sculptural impression of light and color. She has exhibited at The Studio at Sahara West, Las Vegas; the New American Art Union, Portland; and other galleries in Oregon and Nevada. Her work was included in the landmark 2007 exhibition, Las Vegas Diaspora: The Emergence of Contemporary Art from the Neon Homeland. UNLV MFA 2000.
