Reverie

A background of a rich field of oil paint, soft yet vibrant, complements the marvelous textures of handmade papers from around the world.

I tear and pull the fibers in shapes of birds allowing different paper for body and wings. The free fibers add an element of abstraction while creating the illusion of feathers. The juxtaposition of these two mediums is both beautiful and fanciful. The exploration of color, texture, vibrancy and atmosphere are a joy to explore.
