Rainbow Trout Head Study 1

This is Pen and Ink and Wash head study of a Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus fontinalis).
The rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is a species of trout native to cold-water tributaries of the Pacific Ocean in Asia and North America.

This Illustration was first drawn with rapidograph pens on Bristol board, fully stippled, with different values being achieved through different density of dots. Stippling is a greyscale version of pointilism, or divisionism, where colors are applied in dots but to the eye, blend together when observed from a distance. Color is added here with thin transparent washes of ink or resin based colors, applied in layers
