In "Safe Passage," the pitcher changes as it moves from one place to other; at times only a silhouette, and at other times coming into clearer focus. The pitchers (vessels) represent how vital information and resources are carried across time and space, and how women are often bearers of this information. Matriarchs on two different timelines find ways to protect their loved ones, with one even escaping through a portal to avoid detection. This work incorporates screenprinted photographs from family archives, monotype and hand-painted flashe on pieced, appliquéd and cotton textile, hand embroidery, machine quilting.
