One warm and sunny day, my teenage son and I decided it was time for the beach. We have a favourite spot—Charles Daley Park along Lake Ontario in the Town of Lincoln. There’s a shallow spot near trees where it always seems quiet with few people.
We decided that day to put our chairs right in the water so we could wave our feet around, poke at and skip stones. The universe came up, I’m sure, but who knows? Who cares?
It's always a treasure.
As I painted this piece and watched it take form, that sandy beach moment came to mind. Calm. Serene.
I added 24K gold leaf to one spot on this piece. A symbol for how precious that moment is. And a reminder to do it again...and again.
