This quilt was made by Sarah Shields Cross in 1916. But after a closer evaluation the fabrics look to have been manufactured in the 1920s or 1930s. Sarah was highly skilled in quilt making as we can see in this complex block requiring precision piecing and she shows excellent hand quilting.
