Satin backing with a 4” lace edging. Some fabric pieces have hand painted designs. The maker, Olga Keck Hughes, supported herself as a professional seamstress and in 1891. She was 30 years old when she made this late Victorian Crazy Quilt. The multicolored pieces of fabric are made of silk, satin, and heavy velvet.
Techniques: Hand painted, hand embroidery, darned or Nottingham lace border
