This two sided quilt has a front side of multi-colored pieced diamond shaped blocks in silk fabric sewn on cotton backing. A black piece in the center area of each diamond gives a hexagon look to the top and visually forms a spider web pattern. Some silk pieces are cigar bands and a red commemorative ribbon was cut in two and used in one area. It was a 53rd Annual Encampment ribbon Santa Barbara. The top is tied with red and gold wool yarn.
The backside also has been pieced using two different blocks in the design. Birds in Air blocks border the outer edges. Two rows on two sides and one row on the other two sides. The center has Broken Dishes blocks set on point in six rows with lavender triangles separating the blocks to form the rows.
