Center motif is of a ballpark 24 ½" × 30". The piece is almost entirely made up of small irregular shapes approximately 1 to 1 ½ " in size. They have been cut with pinking sheers and have been fused with raw edge appliqué. The baseball diamond is as though looking through a window from above. Center is framed with a 3/4 black border. The rest of the background area is done in shades of blue and red, all with the same size shapes. There are two smaller windows 8" × 27 ½" in yellow. There are many appliqued designs that appear to have been photo transfers onto fabric, then cut out and appliquéd. The designs include: apple pies, hot dogs, Mr. Peanut, baseball players, coca-cola, soda cans, and baseballs and the Goodyear Blimp. There are small
metal charms sewn on including a flag, baseball glove, Statue of Liberty, blimp, sun face, binoculars, a base brush, baseball, and bat. The piece is topstitched horizontally and vertically at 1" intervals The topstitching does not go through to the backing. There appears to be a fabric
foundation, rather than batting. The charms are sewn on with metallic thread, the tuft being on the back about 3-4" long. It is tied in the ditch of the seams. This piece was shown in the "America Enshrined" Exhibition, curated by Yvonne Porcella in 1989.
