Untitled by Ruggero Gamberini, Image 1.
A solitary, reclining figure is reduced to a heavy, almost geological form, pressed into a shallow field of colour. The body appears less as anatomy than as mass: folded, grounded, and resistant to clarity. Pastel blocks in blue and green frame the figure, while ink and charcoal lines destabilise its contours, blurring the boundary between figure and ground. The work oscillates between tenderness and inertia, suggesting a body at rest that is also withdrawn, opaque, and quietly defiant.
