This multi-sided and layered image is a response to the pallet on the East Coast of Africa - which is not all calm blue seas, storms and seaweed make for a much more nuanced environment. The image combines flow painting with quite deliberate brush stokes. I was trying to continue the series I produced in blue acrylic for the Swahili show. I liked the imagined Chinese mountain effect created by the black smudges - but not sure it is pushing any boundries. .
