What caught my eye when glancing at this clematis vine and blossoms was the transparency of the off white blooms and how delicate and lush they looked. I wanted to capture that so the bloom could live beyond the days of the season in a drawing done by using a knife blade to scratch away black india ink, revealing varying degrees of the white clay beneath the ink--scratchboard.
