Jardin des Tuilleries-Paris” was painted on location while on a recent trip to Paris. Taking the time to capture a scene on location is a way for me to imprint that scene into my memory in a very concrete way. I want to combat “destinesia” (the inability to remember places I have visited). Taking the time to paint and draw on site imprints that place into my memory more effectively than photos ever do.
Nature is constantly a source of inspiration. I view it as divine artistry which I try to emulate in my very human (and therefore limited) capacity, using the tools at my disposal.
Gardens are special, and I seek them out in my travels. I love the idea of man working in concert with the divine in order to elevate natural beauty into something even more special. Often this means that my paintings include architecture or sculpture alongside beautiful garden plantings.
The painting is a small original watercolor, but it’s one I would be happy to reproduce in a museum quality print or produce in a larger size as an original commission.
The original is size 11.3 inch x7 inch watercolor on paper and available for a purchase price of 225+8% tax. It could easily be shipped within the US for an additional $15. If you’d prefer a print, another size, or a larger commission version, I’d be happy to discuss any of those options. I take payment via Zelle Venmo or credit (for a 3% convenience fee).
I donate 30% of revenue from my original paintings to charity. I love the idea of my art playing a role in making the world a kinder place. I would hope it might give you another reason to enjoy your purchase that much more.
This one takes me back to the beautiful Tuilleries Gardens in Paris...ahhh what a city and what a garden!
