“Global treatise” is an assemblage work comprised of everyday objects (a toiletries bag, shot glasses, fragments of a shattered mirror and travel tags), to represent the repetitive, often hollow routine of the frequent traveler. Each object, although mundane, carries with it stories of transience, serving as silent witnesses to fatigue and disconnection arising from ceaseless movement. The toiletries bag is imbued with the intimate, personal routines carried out in impersonal spaces, the shot glasses underscore practiced efforts at camaraderie and moments of release in transience, while the broken mirror reflects a fractured identity resulting from perpetual motion. Travel tags laden with symbolic resonance, are each labelled with a destination, illuminating a relentless pursuit of advancement while denoting how individuality can be reduced to coded identifiers. “Global Treatise” explores the personal cost of dislocation, self-commodification and travel fatigue in an era of dissolving geographic boundaries.
