Lifeguard - The guarder of life - Whilst there is freedom and movement in the brushstrokes of the ocean outside of the pool, there is also a certain danger. Painting the ocean pools I am fascinated by the juxtaposition of placing man-made barriers in nature. Is it for control? Protection? The waves lap the barrier trying to get in. But within the sheltered pool the Lifeguard also ensures the swimmers safety. There is a calmness and tranquility with the patterns in the water. The swimmers are able to safely enjoy the summer fun of swimming in the salt water. Don't you just want to dive in? This original painting by Rachel Rae Art is painted in acrylic with a varnish on a deep stretched canvas, framed in Tasmanian Oak and is ready to hang.
