In this work, the clear, cold water of a mountain stream near its source is depicted. The icy water rushes downhill, individual branches hang into the stream, and a human figure is suggested—refreshing itself in the freezing water. In this case, it is not a calm river slowly making its way toward the sea, but a lively, fast-flowing mountain stream, still youthful and fresh as it plunges into its adventures.
