Prickly pear represents my west Texas heritage and my growth there. It is a very expressive piece with bold colors that generates thought in the culture of west Texas perhaps. Yes, not the most exciting place to grow up with sparse natural landscape, dryness, and little to do in high school, but to frequent the local sonic on Friday night. But I wouldn't have any other way looking back at it now. It is actually quite amazing it you venture out the city limits into the land of natural flora and fauna.
