ARTIST: Jaime Quirk
STATEMENT: The Mend was created using a variety of cotton fabrics through an impromptu, intuitive design process. The artist sews sections of the work, then cuts into fragments and recombines. Overtime this creates rhythm, movement and negative space. The work emerges in an impromptu fashion. It is then quilted to create texture with clear thread.
