Kara Coonrod is a multi-disciplinary artist that utilizes mediums such as ceramics, sculpture, digital technology, fibers, and metals in her pursuit of creative expression. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Houston in 2019 and is scheduled to receive her Master of Fine Arts from Missouri State University in the spring of 2026.

She has previously exhibited in several group shows across Missouri and Texas and currently practices at her home and studio at MSU in Springfield, Missouri. Her current body of work focuses on a minute component of the female reproductive system and the psychological, social, and political spheres that shape her beliefs regarding individual sexuality, reproduction, and existence as a human being first, woman second.
