Tina Svatos was a graduate student at UNL at the time, studying entomology. On this particular day, she arrived at UNL donning her Salt Creek Tiger Beetle t-shirt, which represents an active, ground-dwelling insect confined to eastern Nebraska saline wetlands. She was also carrying her light trap, which is used by entomologists to attract and study insects.
