Part of the "What is Western? What is Eastern?" series, 'Ancestry' continues the exploration of traditional Chinese red and gold colors and uses a contemporary medium called alcohol ink. 'Ancestry' was painted in below freezing temperatures in the Rocky Mountains, and contains specks from the heart of snowflakes while pondering no matter how far you go, you'll always be connected to your ancestry.
