It's often the distance between our dreams and the place that we stand. How do we get from here to there? The differences seem to be too much, the knowledge that I must learn, the person I need to become to hold this dream. It has taken me many years of quitting and never finishing to understand that the first giant leap of faith is not the flying leap from where I am to where I want to be; it is the giant leap of faith into the void of not knowing, to committing and saying HELL YES, I WANT THIS and being comfortable with this. Messy middle where the only way through is to take the next step. The decision is then, and always has been, about what direction you want to go forward, where it challenges you every step of the day, butting up against the "can I do this voice and the outside voices, "why don't you just keep it simple," or what is wrong with where you are? And turning around. Leaving your dreams. Forever disappointed. For now, all you need to do is say yes, and then take the next logical first step and follow your heart. You can't go wrong.
