Small-sized, vertical, oil on panel painted in the Pawtucket studio, Fall of 2022. This lush painting, dominated by reds, ruddy browns and blues was inspired by the mid-summer landscape of New England. There are several layers of paint that have been sanded and scraped away to reveal under colors. Glazes of whites and deep rich colors give the surface a smooth sheen while suggesting depth of space. 1 of 2 in a series.
