Small-sized, oil on panel painted in the Pawtucket studio, Fall of 2022. This lush painting, dominated by deep greens and blues was inspired by the mid-summer landscape and surrounding seas of Nantucket, Island. A favorite painting of Michael's is Hannibal Crossing the Alps by the British painter, JMW Turner. This painting, one of a series of 4, owes much to the depiction of light and weather found in Turner's work.
