In this first painting of 2021, American abstract painter draws on his love and experience on the sea. Fjord, a horizontal abstraction has at its center a churning, wave-like space of deep color surrounded gray, blue and ruddy brushstrokes. Influenced by the painter, JMW Turner, Michael is also inspired by the sea as a source for dramatic abstraction. A recent trip to the Kenai Fjords of Alaska were the direct inspiration for this work.
