This is a un-matted "vintage reproduction" of "View from Hwy 1". While we are not certain of the process used to replicate this print, we are referring to this class of work as being a "Vintage Reproduction". This is not an original handmade print, but a copy of the original print and was produced for the artist Emmy Lou Packard herself. You can see this reproduction in the 1968 image, "GIRLS SAY YES to boys that say NO", where it hangs over the head of Joan Baez and her sisters, advertising at the bottom, "Proceeds from the sale of this poster go to the Draft Resistance". Also said about this image according to Wikicollecting: Joan Baez was highly active as a political activist during the 1960s, and established the Institute for the Study of Nonviolence in 1964. She encouraged draft resistance during her live concerts, and is believed to have suggested that women opposed to violence should go for men who were resisting the military draft. This suggestion soon turned into the poster featuring Baez, which was created by Larry Gates and sold to raise funds for the Draft Resistance movement. Emmy Lou Packard was the creator of the print of "View from Hwy 1" Hanging over head within this image.
