Male figure. Mask has raised left eyebrow, painted black, sculpted with hair lines. Right eyebrow goes down towards center, also sculpted and painted black. Black mustache hairs painted above upper lip. Nose is long and slightly crooked. Cheeks are sculpted high and sharp. Light brown wrinkle lines along the forehead, under cheek bones, and on sides of nostrils. Upper lip painted rose color with ridges on it. Overall face painted tan, with orange and red undertones.
The Sun Serpent was a play produced by Childsplay and CALA Alliance, performed at Tempe Center for the Arts in 2011.
Artist and sculptor Zarco Guerrero made about 30 masks for the performance. All of the masks were made directly on the actors to better fit them during the performance.
