Axé VIII. Full-face calaca skeleton mask made of plaster bandage and paper clay, painted with acrylic paints and ribbon, which ties the mask to the performer.
Used by Axé Capoeira AZ during their drum processions at Cultural Coalition festivals. These masks are part of the Performance Collection, which contains pieces available for loan to use in community and artistic performances.
Orange geometric scroll design coming up from inner eyes to upper forehead with two arches above them. A blue circle with orange outline site between the scrolls on the forehead with an orange V shape beneath the circle. Think orange lines around the sides and under eyes, with orange dots, and swishes along the cheeks. Orange V with think blue wavy lines on the sides of temples. Wavy orange lines along jaw. Orange V in center of chin with a small blue circle with orange outline sitting inside it. Teeth are outlined in pink and blue.
