The night meadow drawings are a special series to me.It was inspired by a visit to the Katzen Center where I saw an exhibit of the work of a Mexican printmaker named Felix Toledo. His I use of deep very rich black drew me back into using heavy layers in my work. I also think of the time of my youth in the 70’s when I was free as a child to run out onto the field in the back of my parents house at night and I could lay in the fields looking at the stars.
The night meadow series may reappear in a series of larger works on paper. Note: I am left handed. There are smudges that are minor around the edges of the drawing that are a result of the way my hand draws.
