A few years before painting this picture, I took a photo of this perfect water lily. Open the ideal amount, wonderful lighting through it and around it, and the water color offering an appealing contrast. Was at a friend's house deciding on what to paint and came across the photo. This was a paining that once started moved along quickly and easily.
