This oil painting of a peony is leaning heavily on abstract reality. The original flower that grew in my garden provided the inspiration for the painting but during the process the painting took control and decided what it wanted to be. This is a collaborative painting between the flower, myself and the paint. All of these elements contributed to creating this artwork.
