The Jawbreaker Shoes appeared during an archaeological excavation on Mars in 2040. Following the studies carried out on the vestiges and the writings found on the site a theory seems to prevail. Between 1440 and 1500 AD a civilization used these objects as ceremonial shoes. By putting on the deformed skulls the master of ceremony established a direct contact with the dead. During the ritual, walking became a metaphor for the path that leads to the inevitable death. By walking on skulls the wearer of the shoes showed his desire to no longer fear the tragic outcome. He now walks accepting death at his side.⠀
