Observational nature study based on Wood Anenome (Anemonoides nemorosa).
Not strickly a lawnflower (I have yet to find it growing in the lawn but it has spread in the borders, enjoying the shade I have created in the garden and I have even found it in a long established Hosta pot providing early nectar before shading beneath the Hosta leaves).
The Speckled Wood Butterfly (Pararge aegeria) is a rare visitor to my garden but I see it often on the Sussex Border Path near the ancient woodland edge. The centre is surprisingly green.
