This was the previous Hat (Gedney) Island 50 foot long passenger-only ferry and was built in 1962. She was christened the ‘Holiday’ and could carry 100 passengers. In 2014 there was a sighting of the 'Holiday' in Alaska.
Some of the ingredients in the original artwork are ephemera including the nautical chart of Gedney Island and the surrounding area, photos of the current ferry 'Hat Express', a recipe from a vintage Hat Island cookbook ,'Jack' a beautiful and loved golden retriever, the island phone booth, and the Holiday en-route, the year '2014', sheet music, acrylic paints and college techniques.
