A small but lively original watercolor study of brilliant red poppies,-- I painted this at my kitchen table. It's from a photo I took, but holds the loose energy of a plein air artwork--I'd just wandered through a bed of poppies around my brother's fountain. The archival board is sturdy enough to prop on a table easel or shelf unframed, and since it's sealed under several coats of archival varnish, the colors will stay vivid and no glass is needed to protect it. This little piece is meant to be approachable (pick it up, touch it, talk to it!) easy to display, and easy to love. Prop it on your desk or nightstand, or let it brighten a bookshelf or cozy corner with a colorful burst of nature. It's a very happy painting.
