Vince Rinehart has been painting since the 1970's. He has used various mediums and methods over the years, but has mostly used oil on canvas since 1980’s. Early paintings of landscapes, in the impressionistic style, dominated his work. In 2000 his paintings increasingly used abstract as a primary method. Paintings followed lines, such as concert halls and ballet dancers, evolving into flowing lines, impressions, images, colors and shapes. His work now explores a range of human experiences, using an Expressionistic approach. Rinehart studied oil painting for several years under Tom Brown, Irvine Art Center, CA, as well as at The Art Place in Marietta, GA , under Kip Rogers. Recent paintings are a series based upon poems written by Dana Gioia, Poet Laureate and former Chairman of the National Endowment of the Arts and Painting Collaborator Karl Kroeppler. Rinehart has been selected twice by a juried panel to exhibit in the annual Metro Montage at the Murietta Cobb
